Theo is a chef, presenter and best-selling author specialising in Greek Cypriot and family focused inspired recipes. Theo has written five cookbooks, his most recent is ‘Rustica’ – Mediterranean village food, while earlier this year saw the publication of ‘SHARE and last year was the hugely successful ‘Orexi! – feasting at the modern Greek table’ which has been translated into three languages.

About Theo Michaels

Theo’s inspiration for food varies from his Mediterranean roots, his travels, to cooking for his family. Theo combines his love of fresh Greek Cypriot and global cuisine with the reality of modern life in the UK. After competing on Masterchef 2014, Theo resigned from his IT business of 15 years to follow his passion for ‘food’. And he's never looked back.

Theo’s day job is Executive Chef for an international events company hosting high profile events from an 11th century Chateau in Provence, a Tudor Manor House in Norfolk, or their historic building in La Clusaz, France. These events are usually hosted for between 100-300 guests.

When not in the kitchen, Theo writes a weekly, family friendly, food column and is the author of four cookbooks, including ‘Orexi! – feasting at the modern Greek table’ and his most recent book SHARE; featuring ten sharing boards with over 80 recipes, both published by Ryland Peters & Small.

Theo is regularly in the media; guest chef on ITV’s This Morning numerous times, a regular on BBC radio (BBC Radio London, BBC3CR, LGR, etc.) and he has also appeared on BBC Breakfast News, Sky TV and The Food Network amongst others. Theo is no stranger to food festivals either, demonstrating (and guest speaker) at National Geographic’s first food festival in London; Carfest North, St Albans, amongst others.

Theo also created FiveDinners.com – a weekly meal planning service. Each week Theo creates five easy family recipes with a single shopping list. Theo was born in London and comes from a large Greek Cypriot family. He lived in America for five years and has backpacked around the world. He now lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and three children.
