Why not try making this delicious homemade spiced pear filling, encased in pastry and deep fried to crispy perfection. The pear pies are finished off with a dusting of cinnamon sugar for a unique and tasty dessert option.

  1. Attach the Stir Tool
  2. Add pear, butter, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, mixed spice, ground nutmeg, lemon, apple cider vinegar and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Cook with splashguard fitted - 15 min, 100°C, Stir 2
  5. Let cool completely
  6. Place puff pastry on a clean lightly floured surface
  7. Roll out until 2mm thick
  8. Cut into rounds
  9. Place 1 Tbsp of pear filling along one side of the pastry, leaving a small gap around the edges
  10. Brush with egg
  11. Fold the pastry over, seal with a fork and set aside
  12. Add ground cinnamon and caster sugar to a clean small bowl
  13. Stir until combined
  14. Add vegetable oil to a clean large saucepan
  15. Heat until hot - high heat
  16. Working in batches, place the pear pies into the hot oil
  17. Fry until golden brown - 3 min
  18. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar
  19. Serve
