Why does my machine keep adding an extra 30 minutes when a stage of cooking has finished?

Once the timer has counted down to 0:00 the unit will beep and go into the keep warm cycle for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes has elapsed the display will go into standby mode until another selection is made.
